Guevara dominates the headlines at Mandalika and closes the championship gap to 5.5 points

The 2026 Indonesian Grand Prix, held on October 11 at the Mandalika International Circuit, marked another remarkable chapter for the BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha Moto2 Team.

Following victories in Austria and Japan, Izan Guevara secured his third consecutive Moto2 win, confirming his position as one of the leading contenders for the 2026 World Championship.

The Spanish rider now has 260 championship points, just 5.5 behind championship leader Manuel González.

With four victories and nine podium finishes this season, Guevara's impressive performance reflects both his exceptional talent and the competitive progress of the Pramac Yamaha Moto2 project.

A thrilling Indonesian Grand Prix

The race began with a dramatic incident at Turn 1, forcing officials to stop proceedings with a red flag. The restarted race was shortened to 14 laps, adding another layer of intensity to an already demanding contest.

Guevara settled into second position behind Álex Escrig, with the leading pair quickly establishing a gap over the chasing group.

As the race progressed, Guevara maintained his pace, steadily increasing the pressure on the race leader and preparing for a decisive final attack.

With two laps remaining, Escrig suffered a mechanical problem, allowing Guevara to take the lead and secure victory with an advantage of 3.570 seconds.

The result demonstrated race intelligence, consistency and the determination required to compete at the highest level of international motorcycle racing.
