The Spanish rider from the Ducati Pramac team took victory in Portimao in the second round of the championship. Martin crossed the finish line ahead of teammate Enea Bastianini and Gas Gas Gas compatriot Pedro Acosta.
KTM’s Brad Binder of South Africa finished fourth, overtaking his teammate, Australian Jack Miller, and Marco Bezzecchi on the VR46 team Ducati. On the last lap, Spaniard Maverick Vinales of the Aprilia slipped while occupying third position. In addition, there was a crash between the two Ducatis of Francesco ‘Pecco’ Bagnaia and Spaniard Marc Marquez when they were fighting for fifth position. Thanks to this victory, Jorge Martin is now the new championship leader with 60 points, a good 18 more than Binder.
The next round of the MotoGP will be in two weeks with the Grand Prix of the Americas in Austin, Texas .

•Martin: “I didn’t have any problems with the bike today, I was fast from the start and managed the tires well. I feel competitive again.”
•Bastianini: “I’m very happy with my race, especially when I think back to last year’s crash at this track. This podium is important for me.”
•Acosta: “The bike was perfect throughout the race-I never even had tire problems. I rode as I know how and I am happy for the first podium. There is not only Ducati red on the podium today, but also GasGas red. I know where I still need to improve, for example in qualifying.
In Barcelona meanwhile big win for Luke Power he in Saturday’s race managed, after a great comeback, to get the win in the World Supersport Challenge, bringing Motozoo Me Air Racing back to the top step of the podium, after winning last year’s WSSP Challenge with Booth-Amos.
A win and a third place for him in the two races, while Federico Caricasulo, engaged in the overall, brought home two important placings the result of two excellent comebacks made in both races: in race one he finished sixth and in race two eighth, results that allow the Ravenna rider to remain in fourth position in the world standings.
