Luca Lunetta, rider of the SIC58 Squadra Corse team, supported by Accossato, achieved remarkable results in the 2024 German Grand Prix in the Moto3 category.
During the third free practice session, he snatched the second best time in FP2, giving way only to Adrian Fernandez.
However, in the race, David Alonso triumphed at the Sachsenring, while Luca Lunetta had to serve a double long lap penalty, accomplishing the feat of climbing up to eighth place only to finally fall on lap 19.
Despite the epilogue, one cannot help but emphasize the skill and tenacity of the Italian driver, who was stopped only by leaving the race track.
The same fate befell Pramac rider Jorge Martin in the Moto GP world championship, who, after an extraordinary session, crashed with two laps to go.
Here are the highlights:
- Sprint Race: Martin won the Sprint Race, taking his 13th win out of 28 Sprint races held. This victory allowed him to gain 15 points in the championship over Francesco Bagnaia.
- Qualifying: Martin took pole position for the race, once again demonstrating his great feeling for the Sachsenring circuit.
- Bitter fall: the actual race was a mix of emotions. Martin crashed on the penultimate lap, when he was leading with an incredible pace. This mishap caused him to lose the world championship lead, with Bagnaia now 10 points ahead.
Martin said it is time to change something and improve, as all three crashes this year have been similar.
Teammate Franco Morbidelli, on the other hand, scored his best win of the season by placing 5th
