News Accossato

The Barni Spark Racing Team’s weekend at Magny-Cours, round eight of the Superbike World Championship, ends with the spoils of a win in Supersport and three podiums in Superbike. Montella wins a very important race for the championship where he is now only 14 points behind championship leader Huertas. Petrucci makes a comeback from tenth to third in Superpole Race, then only Bulega manages to do better in Race 2. With a haul of 43 points Danilo was the best rider over the weekend.

Supersport - Race 1

In the 12-lap Supersport race, the first key moment was the choice of tires. Although in the first laps the track was still wet the best solution turned out to be the double slicks, a decision that Montella and Huertas made correctly. With six laps to go, the two came into contact, and race management handed the Barni Spark Racing Team rider a long lap penalty for irresponsible driving. Montella lost two positions and returned to the track and finished the race sixth.

Superbike - Superpole Race

Exciting performance by Danilo Petrucci, who in the dry was the absolute protagonist of the race with spectacular overtaking, also thanks to the use of Accossato brake hoses: starting tenth, he battled for a few laps with Locatelli, then began his comeback overtaking Vierge, Gerloff, Redding and Van der Mark until he took third place at the finish line.

Supersport - Race 2

In race 2 Montella started from the sixth box, but with a fantastic first lap he led the pack trying to stretch. Huertas and Manzi managed to close the gap and by mid-race a three-way battle for the win began. Having managed the tires better up to that point, Yari had something extra in the finale and managed to defend himself from all the attacks of Manzi, second at the finish line ahead of Huertas. With this result the Barni Spark Racing Team rider further shortened the gap in the world standings.

Superbike - Race 2

In race 2 Petrucci started well from the front row, but in the first three laps he was unable to keep up with Bulega, who built the decisive lead in the first part of the race. Danilo also managed to open a gap on the rest of the group consolidating the second position and then keeping it until the finish line.
