The Supersport rider ends the weekend with a third place grabbed on the last lap.
Danilo hits the fourth place in the Superpole Race, but in race 2 he is victim of a contact and ends the race prematurely.
On the Most circuit, scene of the sixth round of WorldSBK, it was a bittersweet Sunday for the team supported by Accossato. Despite having the speed on the dry lap, Yari Montella also suffered in race 2 from the lack of a rhythm that would allow him to fight for victory. Starting in the lead from pole position, on lap 5 Yari was overtaken by Huertas and Manzi, then also by Debise. The #55 gritted his teeth and always stayed in his slipstream although he was unable to counterattack. However, the pressure induced Debise to make a mistake: on the last lap, the Frenchman’s Yamaha touched the green at the exit of a corner, and this infraction resulted in the downgrading of one position. Montella thus returned to the podium after yesterday’s fourth place. He remains second in the championship, but his disadvantage over Huertas is now 46 points.
Sunday in the Czech Republic had started with another good race by Petrucci who, after yesterday’s second place, finished the Superpole Race in fourth position after a good fight with Gardner. Starting from the second row of the Race 2 grid, Danilo ended up on the ground in Turn 1 along with Alvaro Bautista. The Barni Spark Racing Team rider found himself squeezed between Gardner, who touched him from the right, and the blameless Aruba.it Racing Team Ducati rider. The race and the weekend thus ended prematurely, preventing Danilo from playing for the podium in race 2 as well. An end that does not honor the efforts of the rider who had earned second place in race 1. This “zero” allows Iannone and Gardner’s own to overtake Petrux in the championship, where he is now eighth with 111 points. Superbike returns on August 9-11 in Portimao, Portugal, but for all Ducatisti the appointment is at World Ducati Week at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli next weekend: the Barni Spark Racing Team will be fully present with WorldSBK and CIV riders.
