The Supersport NG 2025 Championship has officially begun, with the Circuit of Jerez Ángel-Nieto hosting an exciting first race weekend. Despite extreme weather conditions, the Speed Racing Team, supported for years by Accossato, has once again demonstrated its superiority, solidifying its role as the leader in the competition.

Leading the team, Eric Fernández opened the season with two victories, securing a gap of up to four seconds ahead of his rivals in both races. A remarkable start that highlights the team’s technical and strategic excellence. With these performances, the leader earned 50 points and took home the prestigious Placca Peris.

Among the team’s new faces, Harry Khouri stood out for his speed and determination. On Saturday, despite having his fastest lap in qualifying canceled, relegating him to thirteenth place, he finished the first race in fifth place after a spectacular comeback. On Sunday, starting from the second row, he was ready to claim a podium finish, but a fall caused by water patches ended his run to success.

Guerau Simó, freshly promoted to the category, focused on gaining experience and mileage. On Saturday, he secured the nineteenth position in qualifying but finished twenty-ninth in the race. However, Sunday showed clear progress, improving his time and finishing twenty-first.

Prohibitive weather conditions characterized the entire weekend, with torrential rain that forced the cancellation of some free practice sessions. The next event will take place at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya from June 20 to June 22. Another challenge for the Speed Racing Team as it aims to consolidate its dominance.
